Having worked closely with Kris on many major fund raisers for the Barrie Food Bank that have had a substantial impact on those people who are experiencing poverty. When Barrie senior Mandy Thompson went missing, it was a sad and tragic situation. Mandy, who suffered from dementia, wandered from her home in 2017 and her body wasn’t discovered for more than a year. For Kris Hughston, however, Mandy’s story was a call to action. Kris used her numerous connections in the community, her passion to help others to bring Project Lifesaver to Barrie. It is the same “we can do this” attitude that Kris applies to everything she tackles.
